Matukas Motorsports Race Cars
began full time operations in 1998 however it’s actual origins
started several years earlier. It’s founder, Steve Matukas, has been
involved in the racing profession as a driver and chassis builder
since living in Southern California. Steve’s mechanical and
racing strengths were apparent from his early years when, at age 16,
he began driving the family’s Super Stock cars at numerous NHRA
events across the country.
From this basis he pursued his interest in the complexities of the
physics of chassis dynamics through various educational facilities
and began his career at one of the premier race shops in Southern Caifornia.
Shortly thereafter, opportunities brought Steve to the mid-west
where his reputation for quality work began to take hold. He found
himself working at a large chassis shop in Indiana during the week
and building customer cars in Kentucky on the weekends. The rest, as
they say, is history and Matukas
Motorsports Race Cars was born.
